Slow Down
I tend to be early for everything, sometimes to a fault. It’s not that I have a huge amount of time left over, I just feel very strongly about respecting other people’s time as much as I would like them to respect mine, so I tend to be early for everything.
I don’t achieve this by rushing to meetings, appointments, etc. I do it by leaving a little early. I take into consideration the few possible hurdles that may need to be jumped in order to be on time. If these hurdles don’t make an appearance, then I’m early. I suggest you do the same! You may find yourself a bit more relaxed. And what does it cost you? Maybe 10 minutes less of sleep. What’s the big deal. It doesn’t hurt you.
It can benefit you in many ways, such as:
- Aid in a more relaxed demeanor
- Keep you from making foolish mistakes or forgetting something because you were rushing
- Get better gas mileage by driving slower
- Avoiding potential problems like accidents
So make an effort to slow down, enjoy the life going on around and inside you… just cuz.

Corral Your Cart
Hurry! You’re running late! Don’t worry about the other guy. Get the best parking place. Be the first in line.
S L O W D O W N ! ! !
Everything is fine – you don’t have to get all stressed and tense over time. Take time to do those random acts of good stuff.
When you’re in the parking lot of the local big box store, emptying your bounty into your trunk and back seat, instead of looking at the empty cart and wondering where the closest place there is to leave it, lock up your car, and take the cart back to one of the cart corrals in the parking lot.
Or if you wanna be really nice, take the cart all the way back into the store. Why? Well, why not? It doesn’t hurt you or cost you a single penny. And it makes it just a little bit easier for the next person, whether it be the employee who has to wrangle all the wayward carts back into the store, or the next customer who walks in, and sees that all the carts are out in the parking lot.
Do it just cuz.

Hold The Door For Someone
We are always supposed to be somewhere, and normally we’re hurrying to go to the next store, or appointment, or mundane task, not to mention getting home in time to watch our favorite show, even though we set the DVR. When you’re leaving the store or office, why not slow down for a moment; your next destination won’t be affected that much.
Make a quick check behind you to see if you have an opportunity to make some human contact, and hold the door for someone. (Just cuz)
